Angela Carney

ANGELA CARNEY                                                                                                         

Angela is a member of Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, Association of Project Safety & Chartered Institute of Building. With a degree in Civil Engineering she has gained 19 years of construction experience moving through the ranks in the Civil Engineering & Building industry from a setting out Engineer to Site Management. She has spent the last 9 years as a Health & Safety consultant working for private Clients including Main Contractors.

She is an experienced trainer delivering training in Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Accident Prevention & investigation, CDM awareness, Fire Awareness / Prevention, H&S Awareness for operatives, Noise & Vibration, PPE & Safe Working at Height. She is also an NVQ assessor & Internal Verifier for the C Skills OSAT / CSCS Card scheme.

Having recently completed the Face Fit Trainers course she is now qualified to undertake Face Fit Testing for Qualitative Face Fit Testing.

Angela is also a qualified and practicing CDM Co-ordinator and is a committee member for the North East Association of Project Safety.

Dave Carney

DAVE CARNEY

Dave’s experience in the construction industry spans over a period from 1982 to present. Throughout this period he has worked for 5 national contractors; Wimpey, Kier, Tilbury Douglas, Ballast and Rok. He has new build and refurbishment experience in many sectors including, healthcare, residential, and pharmaceutical, education, commercial and industrial property, leisure, and retail.

Dave joined the industry as a Trainee Site Engineer and then graduated through Management positions at a Project level before becoming a Contracts Manager in 2001. His most recent position was that of Regional Manager, which he left in August 2008.

Dave has completed both the NEBOSH National General & Construction Certificate and IRCA Auditor qualification for OSHAS 18001 management systems, Asbestos P405 course  and the Face Fit Train the Trainer course. He is a City and Guilds approved Manual Handling trainer and a British Abrasives Federation approved instructor on abrasive Wheels. He has also recently completed the City and Guilds PTLLS course which together with the CIEH Professional Trainer’s Certificate demonstrates his teaching abilities.

He brings a wealth of experience to Carney Consultancy Limited and approaches health and safety in a practical way backed up with his recent knowledge gained from these studies. His role is to help develop the business especially in the provision training courses and CDM-Coordination services.


Jeff Mein

JEFF MEIN    

Jeff is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health. He also has a qualification as a registered Orthopaedic Nurse. Jeff started his career as an apprentice fitter and after 9 years working as a registered Nurse he moved into health and safety. He has a combination of 10 years experience as a health and safety professional in the Engineering field and 8 years of health and safety experience in the Construction Industry.

Jeff is an experienced trainer in delivering training in risk assessments, manual handling, safe working at height, PASMA, NEBOSH General & Construction Certificate and the NEBOSH Diploma.

Neil Thompson

NEIL THOMPSON

Neil is a member of IOSH and having achieved the NEBOSH General certificate is now working towards completing the NEBOSH Diploma. Neil has over 25 years experience in the Construction Industry. He started his career as a ground worker and progressed through the ranks to a site manager before side stepping into the role of health and safety.  Before joining Carney Consultancy Ltd, Neil worked for a National Contractor as a health, safety and environmental manager.

Neil brings a wealth of hands on construction site experience which enables him to identify health and safety issues and provide practical solutions to these issues.  Neil undertakes the Face Fit Testing for our Clients and carries out the site inspections / audits, writing and checking of risk assessments and method statements.

CLAIRE REDFERN-LOWN

Claire joined Carney Consultancy in February 2010. Claire is the main point of contact for training, she co-ordinates companies training requirements, writes training plans for submission to CSkills, books and managers all of our training courses and assists in the production of company’s health and safety management systems.
