The Exercise Campaign

Picture

March for march challenge

Throughout the month of March, Carney Consultancy Ltd staff were challenged with the goal of reaching a minimum of 10,000 steps per day.

The data was collected and at the end of the month, all staff members who achieved the goal were awarded a £50 shopping voucher.

Three of our staff completed the challenge, reaching 10,000 or more every day throughout the month. A massive well done to:

  • Kerry Benson (left)
  • Claire Redfern-Lown (middle)
  • Leanne Nairn (right)

Kerry recieved a further £150 worth of vouchers for reaching the highest count of steps throughout the month.

10,000 Step Challenge

On the 30th July we will be running the 10,000 step challenge for one week. The health benefits of more physical exercise include, lower blood pressure, burning more calories and cutting the risk of strokes and heart problems. This will be open to all members of staff and results will be gathered using their phones or smart watches. The challenge will run for one week, with everyone encouraged to submit their steps daily onto the live spreadsheet. Once completed, we will post the results here.

Walking Tour of Newcastle

On the 19th May 5 members of staff and their partners and children attended the Newcastle Walking tour. The tour began at Grey’s Monument, ending at the Quayside Millennium Bridge. The tour covered 2000 years of Newcastle’s history, leading participants through the Markets, the bridges and other hidden treasures within Newcastle City Centre. There was very good feedback and all participants learned a lot about the city in which they live. The tour was open to all staff members and was regarded as a success by all personnel who were able to attend.
