The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity has been delivering Charitable Welfare and Support to the Construction Community since 1956. It all began one evening when a group of gentlemen who had been attending a Ministry of Public Buildings and Works Exhibition on Tyneside, found themselves on the seafront at Whitley Bay.
They are a charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families who have suffered an injury or long term illness or simply need a helping hand. They receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within in the industry to help them continue their vital work. A crucial element of their strategy is to pro-actively support the industry’s mental wellbeing and ensure the widespread availability of construction focused training programmes. Until the end of 2020, they are hosting 10 FREE courses each month. We at Carney Consultancy, have sampled some of the courses and we would recommenced booking on them using the following link. |
Officially launched in 2020, the OneVoice construction strategy aims to build a successful, sustainable and inclusive construction industry, equipped with the people and technology to deliver a carbon neutral built environment by 2050. The revised OneVoice action plan allows for a shift in focus as a result of the pandemic and changing attitudes in the industry.
The overarching aim is ensuring that North East England is recognised as a beacon of best practice. |
